Mindfulness and
Social Emotional Wellness
"I can't stop the waves, but I can learn how to surf."
Jon Kabat-Zinn

Now, more than ever, the social emotional wellness of your school community is of utmost importance. Creating a school culture that intentionally supports skills such as calm, kindness, empathy, inclusivity and compassion in students, teachers, staff, and families helps to build school-wide resilience and create a community that is capable of navigating the ups and downs of our busy, ever-changing world.
Mindfulness and SEL work together - mindfulness works from the inside, helping to increase awareness of thoughts, feelings and sensations in the body; SEL provides external tools with which to manage these things. Together, they are a powerful combination for building self awareness, self regulation, social awareness, strong relationship skills, and responsible decision making.
